How do I book?

Message me or fill out the contact form on my home page! We will talk through options and decide on what's best for you. Your booking is officially confirmed once you pay the retainer fee and sign my session contract, which will go over the specific details of our session and a few policies. Feel free to email me at clairemeyerphoto@gmail.com.

What should I bring to my session?

The only thing you really need to bring to your session is you and your outfits! If you can't decide on outfits, you can either message me options before or bring a bunch of options and I can help you decide, depending on what would look best with the locations. For senior sessions, parents are welcome to come and are encouraged to! Having family there can help the senior loosen up and feel more comfortable. You can also bring a pet, however just make sure you have someone who can watch the pet when we're getting photos without them:)

For family sessions, if you have younger children (1-6yrs) I recommend bringing a snack or some sort of reward that you can offer them for behaving and smiling in the photos. This helps motivate kids to smile in the shots and keeps the session running smoothly, so it's a win-win for everyone! Other than that, you are welcome to bring pets or any props you have in mind.

What about hair and makeup for senior sessions?

I do not include hair or makeup in my packages, but know a few local makeup artists I can refer you to! Just be sure you have your hair and makeup done in a way that you are comfortable with, or else you may not be happy with how you look in your photos.

What if I don't know any good locations?

Don't stress if you have no clue where you want your pictures to be! Before your session I'll send you a google form that will help me know what you are wanting, and I'll suggest locations based off of your responses! I am also happy accepting your location recommendations as well, but keep in mind some further away locations may not work out because of timing and lighting.

How long do senior sessions typically last?

Full senior sessions can last anywhere from 45 minutes to 2.5 hours, depending on your package.

Can I split a senior session with a friend or partner?

Yes! If you would like to take your senior photos with a friend or partner, you are welcome to do so! This means that I would take individual photos of each of you at every location, and will take some photos of you two together as well. Keep in mind we may not be able to go to as many locations for these sessions as I need enough time to fully photograph both of you. You would split the cost of the package and its contents.

How long do family sessions typically last?

This depends on how many locations we go to and if there is any walking required. For standard family sessions, session time will be listed in the packages. Keep in mind that during the holidays, I often book family sessions back to back, so if this is the case we cannot go beyond our allotted time.

How and when should I pay you?

Most sessions require an online retainer payment of $200, with remaining payment due the day of the session. Cash, check, or Zelle are preferred for the remaining payment, clients are welcome to pay through Venmo but are responsible for covering transaction fees. I do not send out the photos before payment.

How will you get the photos to me?

When the unedited photos are uploaded, I will email you a link to a digital album with the images for you to choose from. You will be able to see each image up close, with a watermark across the image to ensure that the unedited photos are not distributed. You'll be able to choose the photos you want from there, and I will edit them. Typically there will be about 50-100 photos from each location, depending on the type of session we are having. Once I edit them, I will upload the final images into a new album, and send them over! You can save them from there and do what you'd like with them.

What if I want more than the set amount of photos? Can I have any of the photos unedited?

I do not give out unedited pictures. If you end up wanting more photos than what your package contains you are always welcome to purchase more! The price per photo will differ depending on session type.

What does editing do?

I will edit every photo you choose. Editing will correct lighting and colors, brighten teeth & eyes, and remove blemishes. Distracting objects are removed when posssible. Let me know if there is anything specific you want retouched! Some of the unedited pictures may look dull or off-color, this is just because of the format I take them in (RAW), and when I edit them, warmth will be restored and colors often end up looking more vibrant. While I do fully edit each photo, my style is very natural.

Editing will take anywhere from 1-4 weeks depending on the number of sessions I have in line to edit. Usually I am able to get them back sooner rather than later!

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my session?

There's a $100 charge for non weather-related reschedules made within 7 days of your booked date. Note that the booking retainer fee is non-refundable and will not be returned if you cancel.

Should I tag you if I post photos from our session? Can I put my own edits on top of yours?

Please do! A photographer or any type of artist should always be credited for their work. It is also a huge help to me as it helps me gain exposure! Many of my clients actually find me from photos other people post :)

Putting your own edits on top of mine goes against our contracted agreement and is not allowed.

Other notes:

For spring and summer sessions: if you have allergies, be sure to bring tissues or medicine as we will likely be walking through fields and you may get sniffly! You can also bring bug spray if you'd like, as there may be mosquitos once dusk comes.

Please contact me if you have any other questions!
